Field Metabolomic Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Metabolomics Scientist (FMS) to join our Commercial team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in communicating the value and capabilities of Metabolon’s metabolomics services to potential customers while also building and maintaining strong relationships with current clients. As an FMS, the ideal candidate will be responsible for engaging with customers to understand their research needs, educating them on the power and potential of metabolomics, and providing expert guidance on study design and data analysis. The FMS will work closely with the Sales team to develop and implement strategic plans to expand Metabolon’s customer base and increase revenue. 

Location: This role can be fully remote 

• Scientific and technical support for our business development executives (field sales) – directly impacting our business growth
• Establishing and deepening relationships with customers and prospects in the assigned geographic territory 
• Establishing scientific credibility with target clients; engage in technical dialog with clients with a scientific background
• Representing Metabolon Services in Scientific Forums by attending and actively participating in technical conferences/events to promote Metabolon’s visibility in the market
• Presenting Metabolon Services at regional and local customer seminars
• Responsible for maintaining up-to-date technical expertise on our services offering and industry trends
• Liaising with the Translational and Global Sales Team for strategic business development activities
• Contributing to the strategic planning and execution of new solution development and launch
• Become a strong internal voice of customers

Required:

• Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Cell Biology, or a related life sciences discipline. 

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on laboratory experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, or cell biology techniques. 

• At least 3 years of experience in a customer-facing role such as technical support, field applications, or scientific consulting. 

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into practical customer solutions. 

• Demonstrated success in delivering scientific presentations, product demonstrations, or technical training. 

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 

• Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

• Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions under time-sensitive conditions. 

• Service-oriented mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences. 

• Willingness and ability to travel 40-60% of the time. 

Preferred:

• Ph.D. degree in Metabolomics. 

• Previous experience as a Field Application Scientist or in a similar customer support role within the life sciences or biotechnology industry. 

• Experience with metabolomics, mass spectrometry, or omics data interpretation. 

• Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and technical documentation processes.
