Overview

Metabolon seeks a dynamic and visionary Director of Global Commercial Marketing to lead and elevate our Marketing organization.  This role combines strategic leadership, commercial acumen, and deep scientific understanding to drive measurable business growth and market influence.  The Director will oversee both global product marketing and regional marketing execution, ensuring that Metabolon’s scientific innovation is translated into high-impact commercial success across every market we serve. The ideal candidate will be an experienced marketing leader capable of leveraging advanced analytics, AI-driven insights, and marketing SaaS platforms to enhance decision-making, optimize campaigns, and streamline global operations.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead and inspire a global team of Commercial and Regional Marketing Managers, fostering a high-performance culture grounded in data, creativity, and accountability.
  • Set vision, goals, and success metrics aligned with the company’s commercial strategy and growth objectives.

Go-to-Market Strategy

  • Design and implement holistic go-to-market plans for new and existing product lines, ensuring strong alignment with Sales, Product Management, and R&D.
  • Oversee launch readiness, market segmentation, and positioning strategies that maximize commercial adoption and customer engagement.

Regional Marketing Leadership

  • Manage a team of Regional Marketing Specialists responsible for regional trade events, conferences, and field-based marketing activities.
  • Partner with regional sales teams to design and execute territory-level campaigns, sales enablement initiatives, and localized customer engagement programs that strengthen brand presence and accelerate pipeline growth.
  • Ensure consistent brand representation and effective ROI tracking across all regional events and marketing programs.

Global Commercial Acceleration & Demand Generation

  • Develop and execute global multi-channel demand generation campaigns leveraging account-based marketing (ABM), content strategy, and digital marketing automation.
  • Apply AI and predictive analytics to refine targeting, personalize customer engagement, and forecast conversion trends.
  • Continuously optimize marketing funnel performance using CRM, automation, and analytics platform insights.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Oversee market landscape analysis, competitor benchmarking, and customer segmentation to identify new opportunities and inform go-to-market strategy.
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations that enhance Metabolon’s market position and differentiation.

Brand & Messaging Governance

  • Maintain consistent, compelling, and scientifically credible messaging across all channels.
  • Champion brand storytelling that bridges complex metabolomic science with clear, impactful commercial narratives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with key stakeholders across Sales, Product Management, and R&D to ensure cohesive strategy execution.
  • Lead Voice of Customer (VOC) initiatives to identify unmet needs and influence campaign innovation.

Operational & Financial Accountability

  • Develop and manage annual marketing budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.
  • Evaluate emerging marketing technologies, SaaS platforms, and AI-enabled tools to improve operational efficiency, campaign automation, and global scalability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or relevant area.
  • 10+ years of progressive commercial marketing experience within biotechnology, life sciences, or healthcare.
  • 7+ years of demonstrated leadership experience, including management of both global product marketing and regional field marketing teams.
  • Proven success in leading product launches, global go-to-market campaigns, and demand generation programs that directly drive sales growth.
  • Deep expertise with marketing SaaS platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Marketo, etc.) and AI-driven marketing analytics (e.g., predictive lead scoring, automated content optimization).
  • Strong understanding of SEO, PPC, content marketing, and CRM automation strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial forecasting, market modeling, and competitive intelligence.
  • Admin and superuser experience of Salesforce.com (SFDC), Marketo, and Notion desirable.
  • Experience working with WordPress.org CMS preferred.
  • Experience managing lead funnels and campaign attribution preferred.
